KANINE KAMP 4 KIDS

Are your kids begging you to let them get a dog? Are they promising to take care of it forever? Are you reluctant to believe them because you know what it takes to care for a dog and they don't? Let us help your kids discover if they are really ready for the responsibility! In our Kanine Kamp 4 Kids each child adopts an on-site dog for the camp session. These dogs are children friendly and already have responsible owners - your child will know that the dog they choose belongs to someone else and is happy in their home. Just to reassure you - these dogs are not up for adoption and are available just to help your child understand responsible dog ownership and the commitment it takes to care for a dog. Your child will have to feed, water, play with and clean up after the chosen dog (apropriate clean up tools are provided). They will learn the importance of grooming a dog and basic grooming techniques (no scissors, clippers, or nippers will be used), insuring it's proper exercise, and how to keep it safe from harm. Your child will learn how to offer proper training, correction and reward to a dog, as well as, what to do in the presence of an unknown dog. A visit from a veterinarian will teach them the importance of good nutrition for dogs and the three things a responsible dog owner must do to maintain a dog's health. In each camp session all materials are provided for both kids and dogs. Each session is held in a climate controlled facillity and concludes with a meal and discussion. Each session is limited to ten participants. Sessions meet on Saturdays from 9am - 1pm and Sundays from 1pm - 5pm. Cost is $30 per child. Basic Obedience Class for Canines

Basic obedience class for canines over one year old. Class includes look-at-me, sit, stay, down, leave it/take it, recall, and walk on loose leash. Each class session works on the command "off" to stop jumping behavior. Final class is the test for a basic level good citizenship certificate. Classes are enrolling on an on-going basis and meet on different evenings and weekend times. Call us for information on classes registering now and pick the day and time that works best for you. Class size is limited to six dogs per class so that each dog has plenty of personal attention from our trainers. Each dog must be current on their shots including DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella (kennel cough). Class cost is $100. for eight sessions and must be paid in advance of the class beginning or the first time class meets.

PUPPY MIXER - TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

Do you have a new puppy and want to make sure that it becomes the social, confident dog you have always wanted to have in your home? Do you want tips on quick potty training and how to teach basic manners to a puppy? Join us for our puppy social where you are able to interact with other puppy parents and family members as well as get help from our staff on basic training techniques and other helpful tips! Your puppy must be at least 12 weeks old and have up-to-date shots or a note from your veterinarian stating that it is healthy and appropriate for a social outing. Socials are limited to ten puppies each and all family members are welcome to attend with the puppy. Please call to register for the session that best suits your needs. Socials meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Contact number 757-896-2275 or 757-817-8337. Cost is $5 per puppy and family members are free! Young Puppy Socialization and Basic Training Classes are now registering for puppies that are four months to one year old and have not been in training before. Each puppy must be current on their shots including DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella (kennel cough). The puppies will learn basic socialization with unfamiliar humans and other dogs so that you will be able to take them out in public as good citizen puppies. The younger a puppy is when it begins training the easier it learns. Class includes: good play, stop nipping, no chewing, walk nice on leash, look-at-me, sit, and stay.
